Last week my oldest turned FIVE (all the feels)! And as many five year olds are, he is completely LEGO obsessed. If your house is anything like mine, then you likely have a zillion tiny LEGO pieces scattered allllll over the place. My son carries his LEGOS with him everywhere. He also sits down to build them anywhere. This means at the breakfast table, in the playroom, in his bedroom, and even in the car. This drives my type A personality just a tad bit crazy! I was originally at a loss as to what to get him for his 5th birthday, when all of a sudden it hit me – a LEGO table! Not only was this something I knew he’d absolutely love, but it was also a solution to the never ending LEGO maze around the house. Because this was such a much needed item in our house, I wanted to share how we made our LEGO table in the hopes of helping other LEGO loving families!
If you’re like most families with young children you likely have an enormous stash of coloring books, play-doh, crayons, markers, stickers, etc… lying around your house somewhere. They may or may not be scattered all over the place or shoved in a drawer or desk.
This was us, until I created a dedicated arts & crafts space in the kids’ playroom.
Although this DIY project took some planning and shopping around a bit for materials, this art space was relatively simple to set up. I love how we have a designated place for all of our supplies now. When the kids ask to color or paint, we know exactly where everything is. Continue Reading
