Our Favorite Bedtime Books for Toddlers & Preschoolers

We are thankfully blessed with two kiddos who enjoy reading. One of my favorite times to sit down and read to them is at bedtime. We don’t always get to do as much reading during the day as I’d like, but our bedtime routine always includes time for reading. In general, I aim to read between 4-6 books with them every night.

I don’t know about you, but I am always on the look out for good children’s books to add to our growing library, so on that note, I thought I’d share some of our favorite bedtime books.

I Love You Night and Day

Pajama Time!

The Going to Bed Book

Goodnight Digger

Goodnight, Daniel Tiger

You’re My Little Star

I of course couldn’t forget one of the most beloved children’s bedtime books of all time, Goodnight Moon. I have this book completely memorized, and we read it almost every night.

Curious to hear about YOUR favorite bedtime books?

xo,

Sumer

Ahhh we just got Pajama Time at the library the other day and I seriously can’t get it out of my head!! Jamma jamma jamma jamma PJ!!! SOO cute! We also have the Going to Bed Book, but haven’t read the others yet!

My baby girl loves Goodnight Moon so much. I had to hide it for a while because the colors were giving me headaches. But knowing how much she loved it made me read through the pain. We now have a huge list of bedtime stories.

We also love I Love You Night and Day and Goodnight Moon. I also love Dr. Seuss which is funny because I never read them growing up. I love Oh The Thinks You Can Think and Oh The Places You Will Go. Another really fun one is Press Here by Herve Tullet.

Yes! Here too! My kids love Dr. Suess, but I didn’t really read them growing up, besides maybe at school.

We love all the Sandra Boynton books. You must get Philadelphia Chickens. It’s a CD and book of songs. My kids are 3,5, and 9 and they all want to listen to it every time we get into the car.
