Painted Rainbow Pumpkins
What do you do when you’re stuck between being ready for pumpkin season but not quite ready to say goodbye to summer? Well, you mix the two seasons together and paint rainbow pumpkins, right?! Last week I found myself browsing the aisles of Hobby Lobby and somehow a ridiculous amount of pumpkins ended up in my shopping cart #oops Long story short, I now have a long list of projects to keep me busy this fall! 😉
This easy & colorful DIY is the perfect way to brighten up a late summer rainy day. And kids can totally join in the fun, too!
Supplies Needed
- Craft pumpkins (white or cream colored)
- Primer
- Acrylic (or washable) paint
- Paint brushes
- Sealer (optional)
Tip: use a primer beforehand to help the paint stick and keep in mind you will likely need 2-3 coats of paint (especially for darker colors).
Get creative with your colors and patterns and don’t be afraid to mix & match! I opted for a bright rainbow color palette and then finished the stems off with metallic gold.
I really enjoyed painting these rainbow pumpkins and think they will make the perfect addition to my craft room decor this fall. I also think they’d be super cute to add to a classroom or playroom!
