Shamrock Waffles

One month exactly until St. Patrick’s Day, which means it’s officially rainbow season! And today I’ve got just the breakfast idea that will transition everyone’s favorite mini heart waffle maker into spring! Have you ever noticed that a Shamrock looks like several hearts put together?! Well, with just a few drops of green food coloring you can turn those heart waffles into Shamrock waffles!

Here’s the how-to on this easy peasy St. Patrick’s Day breakfast.

Supplies Needed
  • Dash Mini Heart Waffle Maker (or you could totally use a heart cookie cutter!)
  • Green food coloring (gel works best)
  • Sprinkles + Gold Straw
  • And of course your favorite waffle recipe or boxed mix
Tips for Making Vibrant Colored Waffles
  1. Be sure to use gel food coloring. This will ensure a vibrant, rich color!
  2. Don’t overcook your waffles – keep them fluffy vs. crispy!
  3. Make sure you spray your waffle maker with a cooking spray in between each batch to ensure waffles don’t stick!

Lastly, top off your Shamrock waffles with a few sprinkles and you’ve got a simple way to bring a little magic to your weekend mornings!
