Welcome!

Welcome to my first post on Grace, Giggles & Naptime! Before we officially launch the blog on Monday, I thought I’d introduce myself here first so we could get to know each other a bit. I also wanted to take this opportunity to give you a glimpse into what you can expect to read here. So, let’s get started!

I’m Sumer, a stay-at-home mama to two little ones – Noah (3) and London (1). My husband and I met online in 2006 (yes, it’s true, online dating really CAN work!), and we’ve been married for almost 8 years now.

Born in Southern California, I spent much of my childhood by the beach, and have been to Disneyland more times than I can count (we are huge Disney lovers). We moved around quite a bit as I was growing up, and eventually settled in North Carolina. After graduating college in NC, I moved to Pennsylvania to be with my (now) husband. We spent about 7 years in PA before I finally convinced the hubby to move me back to the South. We now reside in the beautiful state of South Carolina.

I live for good Mexican food, buy my hot sauce in bulk, and believe that chicken & biscuits are a perfectly acceptable breakfast option. Naturally, summer is my favorite season. I’d rather be hot than cold, and could happily spend 364 days a year in flip flops (Christmas is my one exception).

I was a wedding planner in my past life, and after I had my son, I traded in my trusty clipboard and fancy heels for a diaper bag stuffed with Cheerios and matchbox cars. I have always enjoyed writing and initially started blogging for my wedding planning company in 2008. Now that my little ones are getting a bit more independent (and luckily, still napping!), I wanted to revisit my love for writing, so I started this lifestyle blog for mommies!

I named my blog Grace, Giggles & Naptime because those three words best describe how I balance life as a stay-at-home mama to two small children. It starts with allowing myself a whole lot of grace, sharing in plenty of giggles with my children, and making time for myself during nap time. Of course, our young children won’t be napping forever, but I truly believe that if we don’t take time for ourselves, then we can’t really give our children (or our partners) our very best.

It’s here, where I share my life with fellow mamas through DIY projects, my love for organizing, life with a child with food allergies, and everything in between!

I hope you will follow along! In the mean time, I’d LOVE to connect with you here or through social media. You can find us on: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest. I am working on publishing lots of content for the blog this upcoming week, but would also love to hear what YOU want to read about. Comment below or say “hi” on social media to introduce yourself!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

xo,

Sumer
