Hi friends! We are in the final countdown to the official start of summer and no one is more excited than this girl right here! To celebrate we are kicking things off with some simple (and oh so delicious!) summertime treats made with Peanut M&M’S® Red White & Blue Mix and SKITTLES® America Mix! Two of our absolute favorite candies!

Ingredients Needed
- Rice Cereal
- Mini Marshmallows
- Butter
- Peanut M&M’S® Red White & Blue Mix
- SKITTLES® America Mix
- White Chocolate Candy Melts
- Red, White & Blue Sprinkle Mix
How-To
Start by making your marshmallow treats according to the directions on the cereal box. I recommend using a 9×13″ baking pan. Let cool for at least 1-1.5 hours.
Next, use your star cookie cutters to cut out your individual treats. You’ll notice I used two different sized cookie cutters to mix things up a bit. Once your stars are all cut out it’s time for the fun part – decorating! If you plan to host a backyard BBQ with family & friends you may even want to let your guests join in on the decorating fun. This would be a great activity for kids, too! Set out your Peanut M&M’S® Red White & Blue Mix and SKITTLES® America Mix along with some patriotic sprinkles and encourage your guests to get creative! Maybe even host a family-friendly decorating contest?!
For our SKITTLES® marshmallow treats I opted to dip them into melted white chocolate before decorating them. Just make sure you decorate quickly before the chocolate hardens.
You can also turn these patriotic treats into “pops” simply by adding a themed paper straw!
