Thanksgiving Kids Table + Turkey Snack Cups

This post is sponsored by Sensible Portions but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

Does anyone else feel that November has completely flown by?! It seems that most people are already in full Christmas mode, but we can’t forget that Thanksgiving is right around the corner! This year we are hosting dinner at our house for the first time in years, and I couldn’t be more excited about it!

Last year at this time we were still in the middle of unloading a moving truck, so needless to say I did zero cooking last Thanksgiving. This year we are cooking a huge family meal complete with a themed kids table (something I’ve always wanted to do)!

This past weekend I headed to Walmart with a lengthy shopping list for our Turkey Day dinner, along with the necessary supplies for our Thanksgiving kids table. I also picked up Sensible Portions® Garden Veggie Straws as an easy, better-for-you “appetizer” for the kids. I don’t know about your house, but we go through at least 1 bag of veggie straws a week here! As a mom, I love that Veggie Straws are a healthier snack choice for my kids – they contain 30% less fat than chips, are Non-GMO, and the best part, have no artificial flavors or preservatives. They are also vegan & gluten-free.

And because y’all know I love a good craft, I decided to make these cute, yet simple turkey snack cups to pair with the veggie straws.

Turkey Snack Cups
Supplies Needed for Turkey Snack Cups
  • Plastic (or Paper) Cups
  • Googly Eyes
  • Construction Paper
  • Pipe Cleaners
  • Scissors
  • Craft Glue and/or Hot Glue Gun

These are seriously so easy to put together – they took me less than 10 minutes from start to finish. When making the turkey “feathers”, simply cut your pipe cleaners in half and then bend them to create a feather shape. I recommend using a hot glue gun to secure these to the back of the cup.

Thanksgiving Kids Table

For the kids table, I opted for brown kraft paper as a tablecloth so the kids could draw all over it! Finish off your themed table with fun plates + napkins and simple crafts/activities to keep them busy while you finish cooking.

I think it’s safe to say that the themed table & veggie straw snack cups were a hit with the kids! It really is the little details during the holidays that make it that much more special.

This holiday season head to Walmart to stock up on all these kids table essentials, including Sensible Portions® Garden Veggie Straws.

From our family to yours, may you and your family have a very happy Thanksgiving!

Do you set up a themed kids table at your house during the holidays?
