Happy April, friends! It’s finally feeling a bit more like spring here in South Carolina! And when the temps begin to warm up I get the itch to deep clean my house. You know those days where the sun is shining, the temperature outside is perfection and you just get the urge to open all of the windows?! I know it may sound silly to some, but that’s my favorite kind of day to clean! And with cleaning on my mind, I’m here to share my 5 spring cleaning hacks for busy moms, like YOU!

Use Clorox® Compostable Cleaning Wipes

Contrary to what many believe, you really don’t need a zillion different cleaners to get the job done! You simply need a few cleaning products that actually get the job done, like Clorox® Compostable Cleaning Wipes. They not only have great cleaning power, but they also clean without harsh chemicals AND are safe to use around children, pets, and food! All major wins in my book! I was happy to find out that Clorox® is making some big efforts in sustainability in the coming years and these NEW compostable wipes are just one of them.

Get the Kids Involved with Spring Cleaning

Open those windows, crank up the music and make it fun for the kids! My kids are 8 and 6 years old and they both actually enjoy getting a chance to help me deep clean every once in a while. I try my best to make it fun for them while giving them age-appropriate “chores”. And at the end of the day, we do something fun as a reward for helping! We keep it simple and go for ice cream or have pizza delivered – they always get a kick out of having a picnic on the front porch, so we do that quite often in the spring and summer months. Most kids will happily join in the cleaning fun if they know there is a fun reward at the end of it!

Bonus Tip: One of the areas my kids are responsible for cleaning up on a daily basis is their art table. My kids love drawing + crafting and while I’m always encouraging their creativity, they know the mess they make from said creativity is their responsibility to clean up.

Get Organized + Create a Cleaning Caddy

Take a few extra minutes to gather up your cleaning products and put together a portable cleaning caddy. It makes all the difference in getting the job done both quickly and efficiently! Until I created a cleaning caddy I would go up and down the stairs no less than 10 times – always forgetting that extra roll of paper towel or pair of gloves. Now that I have a handy caddy I’m able to keep everything in one place. I also have a separate caddy for the bathrooms that I store upstairs underneath the sink so it’s ready anytime I need it!

Do the Hard Jobs First

We all have our likes & dislikes when it comes to cleaning. Some people loathe cleaning bathrooms and others will do anything to avoid taking out the trash. Whatever you consider to be the “hard jobs”, do those first! For me, it’s the bathrooms. Once I’ve successfully tackled the bathrooms, I always feel so much better. Everything else is easy peasy!

Don’t Be Afraid to Ask for Help!

I get it, life gets busy! Maybe you’re in a busy season of life right now and you’re not able to dedicate an entire weekend to spring cleaning your house. Or maybe you simply don’t want to. Either way, there is zero judgement here. Luckily, there are deep cleaning services available for those that would like a little extra hand with spring cleaning. We recently hired a housekeeping company to deep clean our entire house from top to bottom and it was SO worth the splurge! It took about 4 hours and we returned home to a sparkling kitchen, shiny floors & freshly vacuumed carpets. And the best part? They let us choose all of the cleaning products, so I didn’t need to worry about harsh chemicals being used inside our home. In fact, I even left them a container of Clorox®Compostable Cleaning Wipes for them to use!

The NEW Clorox® Compostable Cleaning Wipes come in two scents: “Simply Lemon” or “Free & Clear” versions.

Have you tried Clorox® Compostable Cleaning Wipes yet that are made of a plant-based cloth and fully compostable?
