Noah’s Star Wars Bedroom Makeover

Today I am so excited to finally reveal Noah’s Star Wars Bedroom Makeover! This project has been underway for a few weeks now and I’m happy to say that it’s finally complete. As you probably know by now, Star Wars is a pretty big deal in our house and Noah has become quite the little fan. His Star Wars knowledge is actually pretty impressive for an 8 year old – he can tell you the name of practically every ship/vehicle in both the Rebel and Imperial fleets. Whenever I have a question about something Star Wars related I usually go to him for the answer 😉

Noah (who turned 8 in August) was long overdue for a big kid bedroom makeover so this was such a fun project to surprise him with! To pull off the surprise I actually did most of the work on his room when he spent the weekend at Grandma’s house.

When I started brainstorming ideas for his room I knew I wanted to do a classic spin on a Star Wars theme, while keeping it fun and youthful for him. Luckily I was able to piece different decor items together to create the overall look I was going for. Below is a look at Noah’s Star Wars Bedroom Makeover.

Star Wars Bedding

The first thing I chose for his new room was the bedding. As soon as I saw this classic set from Pottery Barn Kids I knew it was the perfect fit! The design is absolutely stunning in person and the quality is impeccable.

I then found the perfect little BB8 pillow buddy to complete his bed!

It’s All in the Details…

When it comes to tackling any project my favorite part is always finding little details to add to the overall look. So, when I found this adorable C3P0 alarm clock I knew I had to put Noah’s beloved R2D2 (and matching ears he recently got at Walt Disney World) next to it. After all, these two are quite the dynamic duo!

Noah is very much into Yoda and will often recite his quotes, so I knew we had to incorporate this wise Jedi into his room as well. Last year someone in our neighborhood was giving away this awesome Yoda toy so I immediately snatched it up for him. Yoda even talks and can wave his Light Saber, too! Note: I unfortunately don’t have a link for this and couldn’t find it online.

The Child Echo Dot Stand can be found here.

Book Nook

Noah has so many awesome books; however, too often they just get shoved in a drawer in his nightstand and he often forgets that he even has half of these books. So, I decided to create a mini book nook for him where he could display some of this favorites. We used these clear acrylic shelves from IKEA and they were the perfect fit.

We then added these fun Star Wars blueprints we found at Hobby Lobby to complete the space.

Wall Artwork

The first pieces of artwork I chose for his room were these stunning watercolor prints I found on Etsy. I absolutely love how artistic and cool they look hanging above his bed. Noah is very into art, so as soon as I saw them I knew they would make the perfect addition to his Star Wars bedroom makeover.

I was still on the hunt for a few additional pieces when my friend, Ashley, from Shaded Pines reached out to me about collaborating together. We chatted about several ideas and then she showed me this beauty below. I cannot get over how incredible this turned out! I absolutely love it and can’t thank Ashley enough for creating this for his room!

Create an Accent Wall

One of my absolute favorite elements in Noah’s new room is the accent wall I created using wallpaper. I found this awesome peel & stick wallpaper at Target and thought it would make such a cool addition to the space. Up until a few weeks ago I had never attempted to hang wallpaper; however, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it wasn’t too difficult. I admit I thought about doing another wall in his room, but felt it was best that we stick to just the one accent wall for now 😉 Note: Star Wars wallpaper is currently sold out on Target.com

Lastly, to finish off the space I placed several of his Star Wars LEGO builds on both of this dressers, including his most recent build – the Millennium Falcon (pictured above).

Tip: When redesigning your child’s bedroom think about what items you already have on hand that you could repurpose as decor (example: LEGO builds and action figures).

And that’s a wrap on Noah’s Star Wars Bedroom Makeover. I had such a fun time working on this project and am excited to get started on his sister’s room next. We’ve got a super cute pastel rainbow theme in the works and I’m so ready to get to work on it!
