Tissue Paper Mickey Wreath

Today starts our “Very Merry Christmas” week over on Instagram and I am kicking things off with this DIY Tissue Paper Mickey Wreath! And friends, this is a FUN one to make! While it’s a bit time consuming, I found the process quite fun and already want to make another! I promise it’s super simple and totally kid-friendly! Here’s what you need to bring your own “lighted” Tissue Paper Mickey Wreath to life.

Supplies Needed
  • Cardboard Box
  • Green Tissue Paper
  • Mini Pom Poms
  • Scissors & Craft Glue
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Pencil with Eraser
  • Ribbon
How-To

Start by tracing & cutting out your Mickey shape on a cardboard box.

Next, get ready to cut a lot of tissue paper squares. Don’t worry about cutting them perfectly though. I promise it won’t matter in the end!

Once everything is cut out you’re ready to get started. You’ll start by wrapping each tissue paper square around the eraser of your pencil and then dipping the bottom in glue before placing each piece upright on your wreath cutout.

Tip: Start on the inside of your wreath and work your way out. You’ll do this about a hundred or so times until your wreath is full 😉

Next, make a single loop bow out of your ribbon to add a pop of color to your wreath (you could also use a pre-made bow).

Lastly, “light up” your wreath with a few colorful sparkle pom poms!

Tip: I recommend using a hot glue gun to secure your ribbon & pom poms to your wreath.

And there you have it, a touch of Disney magic easily added to any door in your home!
